Elsmere BBQ and Wood Grill joined the South Portland food scene in August of 2013.

Once a garage, most recently a dry-cleaner, Elsmere’s décor is inspired by its past trades. Designed around an authentic 20 ft marquee sign from the 60’s, our overall décor mixes raw materials such as concrete and reclaimed woods from whiskey barrels and tobacco farms to create a warm and welcoming environment.
For all seasons, we offer the place you want to be with your family. After a hot summer Maine day on the beach, enjoy a fresh signature Elsmere cocktail on our patio. If it is a snowy winter day, come and warm up with us next to our authentic rotisserie.
At Elsmere BBQ and Wood Grill we offer authentic Texas style BBQ right in your backyard. You can savor meats and vegetables cooked exclusively on a wood grill or state-of-the art smoker for the fullest flavors.
Our smoker (a.k.a. “Mama”) is one of a kind custom built and we use only wood and handcrafted rubs to slow smoke our meats. No gas touches our product, guaranteed! She holds up to 600 pounds of meat, so we can do some serious smoking.
We use high quality, all natural meats and vegetables, and we offer locally crafted beers and daily specials as well as options for all diets (even gluten-free and vegan!)
